The prestigious Clifford Cup Knock-Out Rugby Tournament, which has been contested for over a century, is set to commence in the Central Hills.
League champions Kandy SC will take on tournament debutants Sri Lions in the quarter-final today at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium.
Kandy SC are expected to test their bench strength and give some game time for the youngsters looking at the future.
With Kandy's dominance throughout the season and their previous 61/14 win over Sri Lions in the league, this encounter is expected to be a one-sided affair.
Led by Sooriyabandara, Srinath Kandy SC remained unbeaten this season and are determined to secure the rugby double.
