EDB hosts meeting with JETRO to strengthen economic cooperation between Sri Lanka, India, Japan

THE Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) recently hosted a productive meeting with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) South Asia Regional Representative Toyokazu Nagamine to explore the potential for establishing a regional economic cluster aimed at facilitating the export of manufactured goods to Japan and other regions. This took two weeks to enhance economic cooperation between Sri Lanka, India, and Japan.

During the discussions Nagamine highlighted opportunities for strengthened collaboration in trade and investment, emphasising Sri Lanka's strategic position and industrial capabilities. The meeting focused on identifying key sectors for export promotion and exploring strategies to enhance regional supply chains, thereby improving market access for Sri Lanka
