Draft Bill on microfinance, credit regulation gets Cabinet nod

THE Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the publication of the Micro Finance and Credit Regulation Authority draft Bill in the Government Gazette, following clearance from the Attorney General, before submitting it to Parliament for approval.

The decision follows concerns that the existing Micro Finance Act No. 6 of 2016 does not provide an adequate regulatory framework for the sector.

IT potential for Jaffna's Kaithaddy Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind
I first came across Jaffna's Kaithaddy Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind back in 2015 at a Christmas carols concert at St. John's College Jaffna. Several schools come to perform at this annual event. The Nuffield kids were one of the best choirs. I went to congratulate the school Principal who was at the time Vasuki Rajasingham. And so my first connection with the school was made.
