Colombo land values rise 10.6% in H2 2025: CBSL

LAND values in the Colombo District continued their upward trajectory in the second half of 2025, with the Land Valuation Indicator (LVI) increasing by 10.6% year-on-year (YoY) to reach 261.9, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) said yesterday.

The Statistics Department of the CBSL noted that the increase was broad-based, with all three sub-indicators, residential, commercial and industrial, recording annual gains during the period.
The Residential LVI rose by 12.4% YoY to 273.1, while the Commercial LVI increased by 11.3% to 260.6. The Industrial LVI registered a comparatively moderate increase of 8.0% YoY to 251.9.
