FORTY years since first starring alongside future husband Michael Brandon in detective drama Dempsey and Makepeace, Glynis Barber acknowledges their marriage hasn't been plain sailing.

Wed to the American since November 1989, the actress frankly reflects: "We've had ups and downs and many, many challenges, but here we still are. We've weathered the storms without running away when things were difficult and still find each other quite amusing."
