VVD: Big ask to Kop title
Daily Express
|October 17, 2025
VIRGIL VAN DIJK believes Liverpool are facing their toughest challenge - retaining their Premier League crown.
Liverpool won the title in 2020, earning 99 points, but Manchester City regained the crown the following season, with the Kop side a distant third.
That ushered in a record run of four consecutive titles for City until Liverpool halted their dominance last term in Arne Slot's first season.
But the Dutchman has found it tougher going this time around, with Liverpool trailing leaders Arsenal and on a run of three defeats in all competitions as they gear up to host Manchester United on Sunday.
