Veterans called up to bolster economy

MILITARY veterans are to be drafted in to help in the battle to boost our economic fightback, Rishi Sunak has said.

They will be encouraged to use the skills they honed in the Armed Forces to get high-paid jobs under a scheme unveiled today.

It forms part of the Government's mission to make the UK the best place in the world to be a veteran.

Backed by £2.1 million in new funding, Op Prosper will support them as they seek work in areas like cyber and digital, manufacturing, energy and financial and professional services.

The Prime Minister said: "The courageous men and women who have served in our Armed Forces represent the very best of our country and we must serve them as well as they have served us.
