Tube victim: What I saw was chaos... None of it felt real

MUSTAFA Kurtuldu was on the tube when Shehzad Tanweer detonated his device between Liverpool Street and Aldgate station shortly after 8.50am, killing seven commuters on 7/7.

Mustafa, who was in the next carriage along, had headphones on which distorted the noise of the explosive. He describes the sound as like a drinks carton being popped and exploding. Initially, he and those around him presumed it was mindless vandalism - not the worst terror attack on mainland Britain in decades.

He said: "We were on the train for around 45 minutes before emergency services and rescue workers eventually made their way down to us and brought us up to the street.
