More flooding and gales as 4th named storm lashes UK
DEVASTATING 77mph gales buffeted the UK yesterday as Storm Debi flooded roads, felled trees and brought yet more travel chaos.
Dramatic images revealed sea defences taking a right old battering from Porthcawl in Wales to Folkestone in Kent.
People awoke yesterday to yet more destructive weather with nearly 250 homes being blacked out in Bristol and almost 230 in Cardiff while another 140 lost electricity at Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. British Airways cancelled 50 domestic flights from Heathrow as parts of Northern Ireland, northwest Wales and northern England were hammered by the winds.
