Survivors of grooming gangs were failed 'miserably' says police chief

A TOP police chief slammed officers for failing to snare grooming gang rapists because they feared being called racist.

Greater Manchester Police faced condemnation for its response to scandals in Oldham and Rochdale.

Its Chief Constable, Stephen Watson told Nick Ferrari on LBC Radio yesterday: “We failed vulnerable people, and we failed them miserably.

“As a result, lives were destroyed by predatory paedophiles and people who were preying upon folks for no better reason than they homed in on their vulnerability and made them thoroughly miserable, and we failed.”
