Streeting attacks PM's leadership

WES Streeting reignited speculation that he is preparing for a leadership bid after publicly attacking Sir Keir Starmer's leadership yesterday.

The Health Secretary described the Prime Minister's leadership style as "technocratic" as he voiced frustration at the direction of the government.

Mr Streeting also accused No10 of issuing an "attempted drive-by" stunt on him last month.

He was accused by Downing Street sources of plotting a coup against Sir Keir, in a fumbled attempt to preempt a potential leadership challenge and boost Labour MP support for the PM.

But the briefings backfired and undermined Sir Keir, making him appear weak.
