Amorim urges United to draw on epic comeback

RUBEN AMORIM has called on his Manchester United players to draw inspiration from their epic Europa League comeback against Lyon.

The Red Devils face Athletic Bilbao tonight in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, after a dramatic and historic fightback at Old Trafford in the previous round.

Trailing 4-2 in extra-time, United scored three goals in seven minutes, including Harry Maguire’s injury-time winner, to progress.

It was a rare moment to savour in their season, with Amorim’s hapless side 14th in the Premier League.

But the Europa League has provided United with some respite, and Amorim hopes the memory of their thrilling night can inspire his team in the San Mames Stadium.
