Rafiq fury at 'sad day for cricket' as Graves nears Yorkshire return

AZEEM RAFIQ has been left "shivering with anger" after the expected return of Colin Graves as chair of Yorkshire CCC moved a step closer.

Not for the first time, Graves is likely to fulfil the role of white knight for the cash-strapped club, who are already £15 million in debt to the Graves family trust following his first bail-out in 2002.

The 75-year-old is now leading another consortium ready to inject further much-needed funds into the club to keep it operational, while other potential investors have fallen by the wayside.

A board meeting night was expected to recommend that the membership vote on Graves' return, but in the wake of the racism scandal at the club sparked by Rafiq's experiences, there are growing concerns over the message a Graves-led club would send.
