THE father of a teenager who died from meningitis in the Kent outbreak said she “fought bravely” before succumbing less than 12 hours after arriving at A&E.

- BY HANNA GEISSLER Health Editor

Juliette Kenny, 18, was “fit, healthy and strong” and had completed a practical assessment for her PE A-level just days before.

Her parents Michael and Rebecca and older sister Florence are now campaigning for teenagers to be routinely offered the meningitis B vaccination as officials warn of “sporadic clusters” in other parts of the UK.

Two further cases were being investigated in Kent yesterday, bringing the total to 29.

Loved

Michael said his daughter - a Year 13 pupil at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Faversham began experiencing symptoms the day before she died on March 14.
