Scots hero MacIntyre remembers moment he 'fired wrong man'
Daily Express
|July 10, 2025
ROBERT MacINTYRE has lifted the lid on the rash decision that left him with his tail between his legs.
But, as he dreamt of making it back-to-back wins at the Genesis Scottish Open, the home hero said he would never back down from big calls.
The 28-year-old’s career ascent is not stopping and his fearless nature on the course is matched by a courage of conviction off it.
MacIntyre and his team face issues head on, but he does admit one move a couple of years ago involving coach Simon Shanks left him backtracking.
The Scot said:
"Overall, my whole career, I've just slowly navigated it.
"It's working out what you need, what works. It's just a learning curve.
"I'm someone who is not scared to take risks... but they are not rash.
"I make rash decisions on a golf course when I lose my temper and stuff.

A bitter blow for local papers and those they serve
FROM the pandemic lockdowns to business rates hikes and changing consumer behaviours - pubs and licensed premises have been hit hard in recent years. I've been a firsthand witness to the sad decline or closure of far too many. So I'm genuinely thrilled that the Government has recognised the need for action to support these institutions.
