Salute to tireless couple for 14 years of hard work
Daily Express
|December 05, 2025
REGIONAL winners Laura and Andrew Binns scooped a £5,000 prize for their efforts to make their shop the beating heart of their village community.
-
Laura, 38, and Andrew, 37, have been running the Dacre Village Store in Dacre Banks, Harrogate, for 14 years - opening seven days a week for almost 12 hours a day.
They take Christmas Day off together and no more than one week's holiday a year, but Laura loves running the business, which was her sweet shop when she was a little girl.
In spite of their schedule, the couple find the time to organise charity events, Halloween trails for kids and fun days at the end of every summer holiday.
