POLICE forces have been ordered to share the ethnicity and nationality of people charged with crimes in a bid to combat claims authorities have been “covering up” offences carried out by migrants.

POLICE forces have been ordered to share the ethnicity and nationality of people charged with crimes in a bid to combat claims authorities have been “covering up” offences carried out by migrants.

Interim guidance by the National Police Chiefs’ Council and the College of Policing says forces should consider disclosing extra details about suspects in high-profile and sensitive investigations.

Usually police in England and Wales disclose only a suspect's age and where they were arrested.
