'Overheating planet' sees African rainbow bird return to Norfolk

RARE "rainbow birds" have returned to Britain and experts believe it is down to climate change

Three of the colourful bee-eaters have been spotted at a sand quarry in Trimingham, near Cromer, Norfolk.

Five other birds have also been seen nearby, the RSPB said.

They were found at the same spot last year, making it the first time these birds have returned to a breeding site in the UK for consecutive years.

The RSPB and local bird associations have monitored them closely to ensure they can breed undisturbed. One nesting pair has already been confirmed.
