Outsiders told to join picket line to get prize

SUPPORTERS of unions have been offered prizes to join their picket lines – regardless of whether they are personally involved in the disputes.

The Strike Map organisation has also created a “wall of fame” for people who take part in the most industrial action.

A message on its website says: “The more pickets you visit, the more free prizes you win.”

Its bid to launch a loyalty card scheme, designed to artificially swell picket line numbers, was blasted by politicians.

Tory MP Craig Mackinlay said: “If activists want to join picket lines unrelated to their own industries, this is evidence emerging of potential flying pickets in all but name.
