Tanya Liddle stole almost £400 of goods to pick up a 173rd conviction.

The one-woman crimewave boasts of her thefts online and disguises herself with wigs, hats and sunglasses to raid shops in Newcastle city centre.

Police who have been arresting the 43-year-old for decades finally won an injunction barring her from almost every shop in the area in September, but that came after she stole her latest haul of clothing from Primark.

Liddle, of Newcastle, pleaded guilty to the July 5 theft before city magistrates last week - she was jailed for two weeks and told to pay a £154 surcharge but will be back on the streets after next weekend.
