Ewels confident last year's bitter blow won't play part
CHARLIE EWELS insists Bath are not nursing a hangover from last year's near-miss as they aim for a first league title since 1996.
The West Country outfit face local rivals Bristol in the first semi-final tonight, desperate to go one better after an agonising Twickenham defeat by Northampton 12 months ago.
On that day they lost prop Beno Obano to a red card after 20 minutes but still took Saints to the wire, eventually going down 25-21.
In that campaign Bath finished the regular season level on points at the top with Northampton this year they have dominated the league, ending 11 points clear of second-placed Leicester.
