NHS should 'prioritise British business' when upgrading IT

THE NHS spends too much on foreign IT systems and should instead “prioritise British business”, says a former Tory health secretary.

Steve Barclay said the health service was too reliant, notably on US tech giants, which can charge higher fees.

He added: “A government that claims to want to drive UK growth needs to stop spending money on overseas companies that are not committed to the NHS, and prioritise British business.
