Met investigates 'number of sex assault' claims against Brand

MULTIPLE alleged sex attacks by entertainer Russell Brand are being investigated after a number of women contacted the police.

The comedian and actor, 48, is accused of numerous sex attacks, including rape, in the UK and US between 2003 to 2013.

The Metropolitan Police yesterday revealed they received a "number of allegations of sexual offences in London" as well as elsewhere in the country.

In a short statement, the force said all were non-recent and confirmed they had so far made no arrests. Det Supt Andy Furphy, of the Central Specialist Crime Command, said: "We continue to encourage anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual offence, no matter how long ago it was, to contact us.
