MEGHAN'S IN A JAM ...*AGAIN
Daily Express

As the Duchess of Sussex attempts to relaunch her career, JASMINE CAREY examines whether she can overcome a series of setbacks in time for her new make-or-break Netflix series
-
WALKING hand in hand across a verdant lawn, the Duchess of Sussex and her three-year-old daughter Lilibet look the perfect picture of Californian living. The palm-fringed backdrop suggests a carefree moment... yet the carefully curated image accompanying Meghan's newly minted lifestyle brand As Ever couldn't be further from reality.
One of a flurry of recent Instagram posts, including another where she pours honey onto a croissant on an outdoor table, the idyllic images hide the increasingly sticky situation the Duchess finds herself in over her big comeback.
That became painstakingly clear this week when Megan's renaming of her brand - formerly known as American Riviera Orchard landed her in hot water ahead of the release of her delayed cookery series, With Love, Meghan, on March 4.
Unveiling the makeover and revealing that streaming giant Netflix was now a partner in her lifestyle business, the Duchess was embroiled in an embarrassing plagiarism row over her new logo: two aloft hummingbirds by a palm tree, which bears a striking resemblance to the coat of arms of Porreres, a small Spanish town in Majorca.
Porreres' mayor Xisca Mora called the similarities "surreal".
She added: "I don't know if they visited any agro-tourism and saw the shield, because a photo on their website is taken in Majorca." The town is now considering whether to take legal action.
Meghan's misstep is the latest glitch in the 43-year-old's attempt to rebrand herself as an advice-giving homemaker following the launch of her first product, a limited edition strawberry jam, last year. But as comebacks go, it leaves a lot to be desired.
