OWEN FARRELL touched down in Sydney yesterday and is expected to light the blue touch paper on the Lions tour Down Under.

The former England captain is renowned for his will to win and refusal to accept second best, and has been tipped to shake things up in Australia after joining the squad as a replacement for injured Elliot Daly.

Farrell, 33, who had an injury-wrecked season in France with Racing 92, has not played for two months and has been out of the international game since 2023.

But hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie, who has played with fly-half Farrell for England and the Lions for a decade, said: “You don’t lose class. Faz is a class player, so I’m well happy.
