Killer ‘not man arrested over cold case murder’

Former suspect is not prisoner being quizzed by police

A SERIAL sex killer thought to be the prime suspect in a cold case is not the man who has been arrested.

Detectives have detained a prisoner on suspicion of murder in the 31-year-old hunt for the killer of schoolgirl Lindsay Jo Rimer, 13.

But it is not John Taylor, 69, who is serving a whole life sentence for the murder of another schoolgirl Leanne Tiernan and a series of violent sex attacks on women and children.

He was repeatedly probed by West Yorkshire Police as a suspect for Lindsay’s killing in 1994.
