Keep building - but not in Labour's backyard

THE Labour Government has pledged to build 1.5 million new homes by the end of this Parliament. Such is the scale of its ambition that it fully intends to ride roughshod over objectors, preferring “builders” to “blockers”.

It will certainly spoil some of our greener rural areas and Deputy PM Angela Rayner is in the driving seat. True, there is a need for more housing, but it must be environmentally responsible and planners must listen to locals. Labour’s Planning and Infrastructure Bill is ham-fisted, hasty and environmentally disastrous.
