‘Johannes is the pollen, his fans the bees...they just wanted to be around him’

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s new hosts Josh Widdicombe and Emma Willis have told how they feel invisible when stepping out with third presenter Johannes Radebe.

The trio had their first joint excursion last week, to the Chelsea Flower Show. And TV host Emma, 50, said the flamboyant pro dancer was by far the most popular of the three of them.

Laughing that fan favourite JoJo was “like Brad Pitt” when it came to the middle-aged women in attendance, Emma said: “You are like the pollen and they are the bees, they just wanted to be around you.”

She quipped that in future if she wanted to not draw attention to herself in public, she would “just go out with JoJo”.

And Josh, 43, agreed, saying: “Genuinely, me and Emma were walking around – I’ve never felt so anonymous in my life.”

Johannes, 39, laughed and said: “Oh darling, let me tell you something - that’s the power of Strictly.”

The new hosts of the ballroom show were speaking for the first time since landing the much sought-after gig, in an interview conducted by Emma on her own weekend Radio 2 show.

They revealed the challenge of keeping news of their signings a secret, their fears going forward and which judges they preferred. South African Johannes, who joined the show in 2018, was asked to name his favourite judge out of Anton du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas.

He claimed he admired them all equally, before admitting: “Craig is a hard one to love at times!
