Samoan’s a power play for Trinity

DARYL POWELL had a short but frank message for his Wakefield players after last year's playoff defeat by Leigh - ‘be more physical’.

Beaten to the punch, Powell knew straight away the next step of progression for the West Yorkshire outfit, who finished sixth last year and are now targeting a higher finish in 2026.

But to take that next step, they know they need to be more physical in games and take the contest to their opposition. That is why they signed Jazz Tevaga, the aggressive Samoa forward, who has brought exactly that to a Trinity side sitting well poised in Super League ahead of tonight's rematch with the Leythers.

“There’s a line with players and I think Jazz is on the line” Powell (above) said. “I don't think he’s over the line.
