Iran is a growing threat to our national security, MPs warn

IRAN is leading a surge in state-backed threats, harassment and surveillance targeting individuals on British soil, a parliamentary report has said.

China and Russia were also singled out by the Joint Committee on Human Rights.

Officials warned that the scale of Iranian activity had reached “unprecedented” levels and posed “a serious and immediate threat to national security”. The committee accused foreign governments of targeting dissidents and exiles in the UK in a growing pattern of “transnational repression”.
