Documentary charts the battle to trace 'stolen' guitar
THE story of how Sir Paul McCartney was reunited with a long lost bass guitar will be revealed in a new documentary.
The Beatles star played the Hofner 500/1 guitar in several of the band's early hits, including Twist And Shout and She Loves You.
But the prized instrument went missing in 1972, leading to a fan-led campaign to track it down.
The Lost Bass Project group of Beatles fans eventually found the guitar in the attic of a house on the South Coast.
