Hottest day of the year and it will get warmer

HEALTH chiefs yesterday issued an alert on the hottest day of the year.

The warning came as 32.2C was recorded in Kew, South West London, with even higher temperatures expected in days to come.

For tens of thousands all roads led to the coast. It was standing room only on packed Bournemouth, Brighton and Southend beaches. Sadly, a trip to the seaside ended in tragedy for a woman in her 30s, who died at Durdle Door, Dorset.
