He who dares, wings...'Del Boy' car flies over the Channel

AN ONLY Fools and Horses-style three-wheeled yellow Reliant Robin flies across the Channel propelled by a paramotor engine to help raise awareness of our brave veterans.

David Messenger and his friend Bobby Frankham, 59, built the replica over two months using the shell of an original Reliant like the one driven by Del Boy in the classic BBC sitcom.

With Bobby behind the wheel, the car, attached by lines to an overhead black and yellow “wing”, led a 47-strong paramotor flyover from Calais to Dover, raising £5,000 for The Veterans Charity.

Organiser David, 56, said the 22-mile trip was the largest formation of aircraft since the Second World War.
