Gavin & Stacey star in terrifying kidnap ordeal

Joanna Page says taxi driver held her hostage for 90 mins

GAVIN & Stacey star Joanna Page has revealed she was kidnapped by a taxi driver in South Africa.

The Welsh actress, 48, said she felt “incredibly lucky” to have escaped after the man told her he would take off her clothes and photograph her.

She said the terrifying 90-minute ordeal occurred during filming for BBC costume drama To the Ends of the Earth, which aired in 2005.

The show starred Benedict Cumberbatch, who also escaped a kidnapping in the country two weeks after the actress in 2004.
