Fear Trump will block release of Epstein files

CONGRESS last night overwhelmingly backed a bill ordering the US Justice Department to force the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files - as fears grew that Donald‘Trump will use a loophole to stop the documents ever being made public.

‘The US president had urged Republicans to back the release measure - a stunning U-turn after weeks spent trying to block publication.

But campaigners warned that the bill includes a clause which they say Mr Trump is already trying to exploit to delay or derail the release.

His reversal came after the launch of a searchable database of 23,000 documents released by the House Oversight Committee.
