Family 'wheeled dead relative on to Gatwick flight'

Air crew told passenger 'unwell'

RELATIVES wheeled an elderly British traveller on to an easyJet flight after she had died, fellow passengers have alleged.

As the plane to Gatwick taxied for takeoff from Malaga, cabin staff were told the 89-year-old had passed away.

So it returned to the terminal where everyone on board waited nearly 12 hours for a replacement aircraft.

Passengers claimed the woman had been lifted from a wheelchair into her seat by family members who told crew she was unwell and had fallen asleep. One reportedly said to them: “It’s OK, we're doctors.”

The plane headed to the end of the runway then stopped after easyJet staff realised that she had died.

However, the airline has contradicted passengers’ claims she had died before boarding the plane.
