Experts urge new mums to exercise for 2 hours a week
Daily Express
|March 26, 2025
TWO hours of moderate to vigorous exercise a week can boost a new mum's health and improve sleep, say experts.
They urged mothers to return to exercise in the first 12 weeks after birth.
Brisk walking, cycling and resistance training like sit-ups, push-ups, leg raises and planks were suggested.
The Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology also "strongly" recommends daily pelvic floor muscle training to reduce the risk of urinary incontinence.
