Plates are invisible to ANPR
MOTORISTS using “ghost” number plates that cannot be seen by speed and police cameras could have their vehicles confiscated.
It is among a range of tough new penalties under consideration by the Department for Transport to tackle the growing problem, after a survey by London’s Metropolitan Police found four in 10 licensed taxis and private hire vehicles had non-compliant plates.
