Research has revealed Australians outlive people in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK and the US by up to five years.

Most of the lifespan advantage accrues between the ages of 45 and 84 with death rates from drug and alcohol misuse, cancer, and cardiovascular and respiratory diseases all lower.
