Code-breaker Alan Turing's mementoes back at old school...with help of the FBI

A woman claiming to be his daughter snatched the historic haul including his OBE and a congratulatory letter from George VI from Sherborne School, Dorset, in 1984.

It took an FBI raid, a US civil case and help from Buckingham Palace and the Met Police to finally bring them home.

The brazen theft saw a visitor called "Julia Turing" take the papers, including his Princeton degree, school reports and letters, after asking to view them.

She left a note saying they would be "well taken care of" before walking out of the door.
