IT is a bit early for managers to start rolling out the cliche that "every game is a cup final" - but Jurgen Klopp will certainly be treating Sunday's clash with Arsenal as a must-win.

And not just because it would secure FA Cup progress and keep Liverpool in the hunt for silverware on four fronts.

But also because it will mean they avoid wrecking their mini winter break with a third-round replay against the Gunners.

A second meeting with Arsenal would add to a busy start to the new year for the Reds, while their rivals enjoy some recovery time.

Take their fellow title challengers Manchester City, who currently have only three games scheduled for this month.
