Brianna's mobile was a constant battle...drastic action is needed

MURDERED teenager Brianna Ghey was "addicted" to her phone, causing frequent family tension, her mother said yesterday.

Esther Ghey is campaigning for social media apps to be banned on smartphones for under-16s.

She wants access blocked and stronger parental control technology that issues alerts over potentially harmful online searches.

An online petition has also been launched. Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe were 15 when they stabbed 16-year-old Brianna 28 times with a hunting knife after luring her to a park near Warrington, Cheshire, last February.

The pair were jailed for life last Friday for Brianna's murder. 

Torture

During the killers' trial, it emerged Jenkinson had previously watched online videos of torture and murder.
