Boeing offers bombs to hit behind Russian lines

THE US was last night mulling a proposal from Boeing to supply Ukraine with small precision bombs which can be fixed to rockets - allowing it to hit far behind Russian lines.

As Putin's onslaught continues, Kyiv desperately needs more sophisticated weapons dubbed 

But Boeing's proposed system, Ground-Launched Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), is one of about a half-dozen plans for getting new munitions into production for Ukraine and America's eastern European allies.

Targets

The Pentagon believes GLSDB could be delivered by the spring, according to a leaked document.

Experts say the system combines the GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) with the M26 rocket motor, both of which are common in US inventories.
