attempt to shift spotlight and her disastrous Budget'

WHEN you're plummeting in the polls and in the middle of a full-blown political crisis, further alienating 17.4 million voters isn’t the wisest strategy.

But that's exactly what Sir Keir Starmer has done by blaming Brexit for the current economic mess Labour and the country finds itself in.

The Prime Minister says leaving the European Union has strangled the economy, restricted growth and left Britain poorer.

That, he insists, was one of the reasons why Rachel Reeves hiked taxes in last week's Budget and why he wants Britain to move closer towards the EU.

Few will be fooled by Starmer's transparent attempt to shift the spotlight away from the shambles he's presiding over and his Chancellor's chaotic Budget.

And few will be surprised that the man who voted for, campaigned for, and backed remaining in the EU, has finally said what he really thinks about Brexit.

But Sir Keir is so catastrophically wrong on this one.

Blaming voters for a decision they made is political suicide and one that will come back to haunt him time and time again.
