'At least 100,000 homes could be built on MoD land'

THOUSANDS of homes are to be built on surplus Ministry of Defence land as part of the Government's flagship pledge to deliver 1.5 million new residences.

Some homes are expected to be earmarked for troops, their families and veterans.

Defence Secretary John Healey said the plan looks to "get over the failings of the system we've seen in the last 15 years".
