Aristocrat 'enforcer' shunted 'bad drivers' at 130mph on M-way

AN aristocrat who saw himself as "an enforcer of good driving" has been jailed after ramming his BMW into the back of at least nine cars on a motorway at rush hour.

Gavin Bathurst-Shaw-Binning, 46, was high on cocaine, cannabis and alcohol when he targeted "bad motorists" on the M3.

After a half-hour rampage reaching speeds of 130mph he got out of his car and punched the air, a court heard. He then told police officers who arrested him that he wished he had done it "years ago".

Judge Angela Morris told him he had caused "pandemonium on a busy motorway in rush hour.

She said: "You took the view drivers on smart motorway - which that part of the M3 was were incompetent and had no idea how to drive.

"That put you in a rage and you took it upon yourself to teach them a lesson. It's a wonder and a mercy no one was killed."
