860 rail ticket offices saved after outcry

HATED plans to shut around 860 railway station ticket offices in England have been scrapped.
Transport Secretary Mark Harper announced the U-turn yesterday after months of opposition from passengers and disability groups.
He said: "We have engaged with accessibility groups throughout this process and listened carefully to passengers as well as my colleagues in Parliament.
