£1m flat owner sued over 'noise torture' of wooden floorboards

A HIGH-flying businessman is locked in a court battle with his wealthy upstairs neighbours, claiming that their creaky floor is "torture".

Sergey Grazhdankin, 42, and his wife Maria say their lives in a £1million-plus apartment in a gated art deco development became a misery after new neighbours moved in the flat above them.

They claim they face a constant assault of noise from the wooden floorboards they installed, including creaking joists, footsteps, children playing and noisy conversations between City banker Medhi Guissi and his wife.

Mr Grazhdankin, from West Kensington, London, who runs an insurance services company, is suing his neighbours over the alleged "nuisance" in a case which has run up around £250,000 in lawyers' bills.
