14 years for nursery killer who tied baby face down to beanbag

A NURSERY worker who strapped a nine-month-old baby face-down to a beanbag and left her there for an hour and a half was yesterday jailed for 14 years.
Kate Roughley, 37, had denied carrying out an unlawful act to cause Genevieve Meehan's death, but was found guilty of manslaughter on Monday after a four-week trial.
The court heard she had shown "hostility" towards the infant in the days before her death.
She also told the crying child to "stop your whingeing", calling her a head" and singing, "Genevieve, go home... Genevieve, go home".
Haunted
The baby was seen struggling and coughing on CCTV recorded at the Tiny Toes nursery in Stockport on May 9, 2022. But Roughley did not check on her until she was "unresponsive and blue".
