Pub landlord's generosity blooms for floral display

NANTWICH in Bloom and the mayor's charity have received a welcome boost from pub landlord Darren Snell.

Darren, host at Nantwich’s oldest pub The Black Lion on Welsh Row, has sponsored the floral displays in the large planters outside NatWest Bank for a second year.

He has also donated to Nantwich Mayor Mary Slinn’s chosen charity The Dog's Trust.

Mrs Slinn, who took over as Mayor in May, visited the 1664 hostelry for her first presentation to the charity and to hear about plans for new food offerings and Darren's involvement in the Nantwich Food Festival.

The former chef at the Dorchester Hotel London and Chester Grosvenor Hotel will demonstrate his culinary skills on the chef's theatre stage during the festival.
